There are countless stories both in the Bible and everyday life of angels watching over us. I also have an angel watching over me. Eight years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I returned home from the hospital after surgery, my daughter brought one of our Christmas angels and placed her at my bedside; she told me that this angel was there to watch over me as I recovered. While recovering, I always felt comforted when I glanced at my guardian angel. To this day, she is still there watching over me!
We each have different reasons why we collect angels and cherubs. For some it may be the religious aspect or angels are seen as our protectors or a guiding force in times of need. For others, it may be a family tradition of collecting that has been passed down. Perhaps you enjoy decorating with them throughout the year or during the holidays, or it could be that you enjoy collecting them simply because those childlike faces make you smile.
I personally love the memories of some of my grandmother's antique Christmas items that were passed down to me. I treasure the memories as much as I do the items.
Don't have a family tradition? Perhaps this holiday is the time to start your own collection of family heirlooms that can be passed down from one generation to the next and used to compliment your decor this season.
Check out the simple beauty that a pair of these antique German carved wood cherubs can create when they are added to your holiday wreath. For an additional tip, I added a burlap ribbon bow with a vintage brooch glued in the center of the bow.

Some collectors prefer the cherubs in their natural wood state. Here, I added a pair of wooden cherubs to two small pine wreaths with burlap bows. You could place these in many areas around your home.
Here is another example of a grouping of cherubs that I displayed in a vintage pallet box. I added some holiday greenery for color.
An everyday example is to tie a piece of ribbon to a cherub and hang from your lampshade.
Happy collecting and may the angels of the season watch over you and yours!
